Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS)

Before your pet undergoes anesthesia, we perform a thorough physical examination, considering their temperament, age, breed, overall health, and the specific procedure. These factors help us tailor an individualized anesthesia plan, carefully selecting medications, monitoring strategies, and paint management, to keep your pet safe and comfortable throughout the process.
Constant Monitoring for Safety
During the procedure, our team closely monitors your pet’s vital signs, like heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure, using the most advanced equipment. We also keep a watchful eye on pain levels and adjust medications as needed to ensure your pet stays comfortable. An IV line is set up to provide fluids and any necessary medications throughout the procedure, and our team is by your pet’s side until they fully recover from anesthesia calmly and comfortably.
Additionally, our anesthesiologist utilizes telemetry to monitor patients. Telemetry allows us to automatically collect, measure, and transmit data from remote sources directly to our anesthesiologist for continuous analysis and oversight throughout the hospital.

Special Care for High-Risk Pets
For pets with existing health concerns, like heart problems, or respiratory issues, or those needing emergency surgery, we create special anesthesia plans tailored to their unique needs. Our experienced team is prepared to handle even the most delicate and difficult situations, working with our specialty services to provide comprehensive care.
